Reading, PA

I went to a meet this past weekend in Reading, PA.  Drove 8 hours through a monsoon to get there and ended up with a mark of 53.98m.  Not bad, not good.  Its a step in the right direction.  I felt a little bit of something so I was happy with that.  I felt like 56m would not have been out of the question had the circumstances bee a little better with relation to the drive, but I’ll take a couple meters improvement from the last meet.  I’ll also take getting to hang out with some old friends.  I ran into Nia and Effua from while I was there and of course got to see Jim and Kathy Whetenhall.  Awesome people and just a great atmosphere to be in.

The drive home was really a blessing, got to enjoy some beautiful weather, a couple conversations with friends on the phone and the destination was my in-laws to see my niece get baptized.  Kelly is the God-Mother.  All in all, despite the crazy weather on friday it was a good weekend and had an opportunity to reflect on the big picture and what I really want to do and where I want to be.

I took off a week from work to let the CNS rest and I think it helped, but I am anxious to see if this weeks meet is better.  As we all know the rest you give your CNS usually pays off a few weeks after you back down.  I realize one week off of work is not going to solve my problem entirely, but it should give me a bit of jump start on trying to get back into the swing of things.  looking forward to heading to ashland this week for another meet with some great athletes and some awesome people.  Stay tuned!
